The Minds Behind The HoboHookah…
Trent and Mike met at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in a shroud of suspicion in December 2002. At the time, Trent was the Chair of a student government committee that Mike wanted to join. There were some forces on campus opposed to the work Trent was doing, and when Mike, who hadn’t shaved in months or slept the night before, walked into the room, Trent became rather suspicious.
It wasn’t until a few weeks later (finals week for that semester) that a glorious relationship began. Mike had just been busted in his dorm and lost all his liquor, so he did what all freshman do when they get busted - call their older friends and try to seem not desperate.
Trent was a kind soul and thus was born A Friendship that has now become The Team.

Trent, Maynard
Trent graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in August 2005. Upon completion of his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, he worked for Lucent Technologies (now Alcatel-Lucent), but realized there was not much of a Dream to live there.
Trent has had extensive experience working in the Middle East. As a student, Trent participated an internship exchange program to the Middle East, while abroad he worked for Coca-Cola Egypt in their North African Public Relations Department. In 2006, Trent was later hired by the same exchange program to financially manage and expand their Middle Eastern programs, which has included grants to the US Department of State, American Express and the Starr Foundation. He currently resides in The Jersey City, a glorious place to be alive.
Trent can be found in several of our How-To videos, like this one on blowing smoke rings:
Every time you hear a bell, Trent has taught another person to blow their first smoke rings.
Mike, Duke of The Dream
Mike graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in May 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a concentration in Mathematics. He has worked and studied in Egypt for seven months and has also spent time in Turkey and Israel, learning the different social and cultural norms surrounding hookahs.
Mike has an engineering and physics background and has worked for the University of Wisconsin as a lab technician as well as for computer technical support. He is an online technologies enthusiast and actively follows the trends of social, viral marketing through weblogs, online forums, social networking sites and emerging technologies.
He is currently kicking it in Malaysia, which is significantly warmer than Wisconsin, which is nice. Mike can often be found rocking the Hobo while rocking his shitty laptop.
